BaoWei is a chinese expression for 'surround'. The object of the game is to surround an opponent's man (player piece) by occupying 4 adjacent squares with your men. Movement is dictated by the roll of a die. Once a piece is moved, it is flipped over to the opposite side, and it can not move again until all of your other pieces have moved. The game can be played with 4 men per player, where the first to surround an opponent wins (fig. 1 - 2), or up to 8 men per player with options for extended play, both in time and strategy (fig. 3 - 5).
